9-10 November 2024 – Over 70 artists are exhibiting at this year’s Kvinder & Kunst Art Fair and Dyveke, Aska and Sandra from the Gemini Art Group (GAG) are three of them!

9 November 2024 – Treat yourself on Saturday 9th November to some magic and come to experience this fusion of art, space, and music. Artist Ughetta Dallimonte warmly invites IMMART to visit her first solo exhibition at the iconic Brøndshøj Water Tower.

UKK and Aarhus Billedkunstcenter are happy to invite you to ‘What If Diversity Was Not An Issue?’. An afternoon with two workshops carried out by Aysha Amin and IMMART’s Research Curator, Letícia Stallone at KH7 artspace, in Aarhus.
This event is designed to give each person an opportunity to reflect upon it from their social location, examine interactions within and between broader systems of privilege and oppression; and reflect on how their social location does affect their approaches to education, research, and artistic practice.
Participation is free of charge!
28 September 2024 – IMMART visited Chris Rini at his place in Roskilde where we got a sneak peak into his new collection which uses a method of stained wood or as Chris puts it “Stained Wood Glass”.

13 April 2024 – As we enter into spring and the evenings get brighter, we who live in the darkness for many months often feel sense of positivity and a boost in energy. After more than 20 years in Copenhagen, Nicol Savinetti has moved south and invites the IMMART Network to enjoy her new home and some delicious, energy-boosting, seasonal homecooked treats!
March 2024 – We cannot wait to return to Angélique’s place and explore the theme that has been occupying her for some time now. Angélique invites the IMMART Network to an honest conversation paired with equally honest dining at her wonderful home in Virum.
8 February 2024 – As a part of the AAA project, IMMART will host a roundtable debate on ACTIVE INCLUSION with our Erasmus+ partners from France, FACE, and Finland, G.A.P. who will be visiting for a few days, and an array of stakeholders from the Danish arts and culture scene.
This event is closed and attendance is by invitation only.
7 February – Since 2017 IMMART has been working on a living heritage project called Food Memories, led by writer and researcher Sacramento Roselló. In conjunction with our partnership in the international collaboration LIVIND, we are excited to welcome you to talks on the presence and importance of preserving living heritage in Denmark.
We shall be hearing from cultural practitioners from Spain, Ukraine, Mexico and Finland, as well as representatives from academia and UNESCO.
This event is free to attend, however space is limited and registration is required.
13 January – The end of 2023 is very busy with ARTIVAL evaluation and the start up of our exciting Erasmus+ project, so we have decided to change our traditional End of Year Drinks, to New Year’s Drinks instead with Gallerie Lorien.
As well as filling you in on IMMART’s amazing 2023, founder of Art Money, Lars Kræmmer shall also give our guests an introduction to his concept of art as currency which has been in existence for 25 years, and is used worldwide.
This event is free to attend and open to all. No registration required.
16 November – Chris Rini presents the last in the film series on AI in the Art World with the film “In the Realms of the Unreal”. After the screening we’ll move to the café for a discussion about the future implications of AI and machine learning on the greater art world and some food.
In the Realms of the Unreal is a 2004 American documentary film written and directed by Jessica Yu about American outsider artist Henry Darger (1892–1973).
An obscure janitor during his life, Darger is known for the posthumous discovery of his elaborate 15,145 page fantasy manuscript entitled The Story of the Vivian Girls, in What is Known as the Realms of the Unreal, of the Glandeco-Angelinnian War Storm, Caused by the Child Slave Rebellion, along with several hundred watercolor paintings, collages and other drawings illustrating the story.
3 November – Join us for an enchanting evening of creativity and culinary delights at “Artists in Bloom.” Your hosts, Eli, Lars and Nicol will be wearing their most exquisite attire (and we’d love you to do so too!) as we gather to celebrate the harmonious fusion of art and gastronomy. Anticipate a sumptuous three-course feast that will tantalize your taste buds and ignite your senses.

28 October – We enjoyed a pasta pot luck dinner and some adult halloween fun with Romain Lliedo and Studio Cinemagic. Romain took a scene from “The Blair Witch Project”, and we all contributed and learned a lot about making sound effects – it has a name: FOLEY!
It was great fun and highly recommended as a team or even fun family or friends workshop.
16 October – Chris Rini presented the second in the film series on AI in the Art World with the film “Crumb” and a discussion about the future implications of AI and machine learning on the greater art world.
After the film we enjoyed some food and bar reception, networking with members of both the technology and art worlds.
12 October – In this Talk, IMMART brought together cultural practitioners, activists and human rights experts to reflect on the state of human rights and anti-discrimination in the cultural sector in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. The goal of the session was to identify the areas for improvement and provide actionable recommendations for how these challenges can be addressed.
28 September – Globe Art Point invited participants to join an online panel discussion that explored the challenges faced by institutions in curating exhibitions and programs that accurately reflect the diverse range of voices, perspectives, and artistic expressions present in contemporary society.
13 September – What does life in the highlands of Central Asia look like today? How do the people of this region express their sense of identity, continuity and belonging in the face of historical, cultural and economic changes? How can we, as Western audiences, gain a deeper understanding of their living history and reality?
These are some of the questions that the exhibition ASIA Inside Out aimed to explore through the eyes of two local documentary photographers, Guliza Urustambek kyzy and Danil Usmanov, who focus on capturing life in the remote, mountainous regions of Central Asia. The exhibition was part of Asia Week at the Københavns Universitet – University of Copenhagen in collaboration with IMMART, the Asian Dynamics Initiative and curators Cila Brosius and Abel Alazo-Rangel.
1 September – At our first potluck dinner of the season, visual artist and columnist Chris Rini introduced us to a selection of films exploring the complex relationship between artificial intelligence and the art world, which he will be screening at Copenhagen’s very first cultural center and cinema, Husets Biograf on 14 September.

1 September – Globe Art Point hosted an interactive panel discussion, where participants and viewers gained practical knowledge on how to navigate the complexities of political advocacy within the art and culture sector.

24 August – Red Door Gallery curated this ARTIVAL Talk on “Writing Process and Practice”, a talk on multilingual, multicultural, multimedia writing, by Elizabeth Torres, Yemmi Butterman and Vladislav Nenchev. The three artists intertwined their stories and writing experiences with the cultural landscape of the Nordic communities they’re a part of, beautifully, on the stage of the Nordic Culture Point library in Helsinki.

19 August – Artists, empath and entrepreneur Tina Israni welcomed guests into her home for our first IMMART Dinner of the new season.
During this home dinner, Tina kindly hosted conversations about community and care within the artspaces of Copenhagen, and in the city/country in general.

From February to November 2023 we have had numerous events across the Nordic region in conjunction with the cultural festival ARTIVAL RE:CONNECT. From poetry readings in care-homes, museums and bookshops, to exhibitions, kids workshops, and performances, the festival has involved an incredibly diverse cross-section of artists and audiences and shall continue to do so with the live-streamed ARTIVAL Talks that will round up the festival program for 2023.
The IMMART Dinners kicked off in January this year. We have enjoyed monthly dinners at IMMART Network members homes, a picnic in the park, a big breakfast and a couple of potluck dinners at Global Art Gallery (that’s us in the picture!). IMMART and the Embassy of Mexico in Copenhagen, organised a panel discussion in conjunction with the photographic essay called PERFECT CITIZEN by Mexican artist, Arturo Betancourt, at the Mexican Cultural Institute. The discussion centered around social inertia, apathy, citizen indifference, and the importance of “being” and not just “to exist” in a society that is, as Arturo writes, “used to its own routines”.
In November ’23 we enjoyed a fantastic home dinner with IMMART Board member Sophie Bruun. Guests enjoyed a thought-provoking introduction to the Danish philosopher, Søren Kierkegaard’s relationship to the arts, by Kierkegaard expert Benjamín Olivares Bøgeskov. We made a sound recording of the talk and discussion and passed it on to another Kierkegaard expert, Claus Damgaard who then used the content as the foundation for a further bodily exploration of the topics discussed.
In the conference Norm Critical Leadership. Challenging Norms and Nordic Exceptionalism we asked, how one can become a changemaker and dismantle discriminatory norms, normative structures and hierarchies within the arts and culture sector? What does norm critical leadership mean in different situations and contexts? The conference was unique, intense, tiring and invigorating and we are grateful to have been part of making it happen.
